Tigershark 2.4L Engine Problems

Fiat-Chrysler's (FCA) Tigershark engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, found in popular models like the 5th generation Cherokee and 2nd generation Compass.

The engine uses a MultiAir system to control the opening and closing of the intake valves. The system depends on good oil quality and proper viscocity which is a problem considering the piston rings can be as effective as cheese cloth at keeping oil out of the combustion chamber.
